Description
Reproduction porcelain vase with hand-formed scroll handles and finished in a cream/ivory glaze. Piece has been fired at high kiln temperatures for a rustic look that includes blemishes, plus crackled and chipped glaze appearance. Made with foot-stomped clay.
Foot-stomped porcelain is made with a rustic form of clay that is literally mixed together by stomping on the clay. This type of clay is more primitive and less refined, containing minerals and other materials that react with the heat in the kiln and result in beautiful blemishes, marks, cracks, and imperfections. This creates an antiqued, unique finish that is intentional and highly sought after by many designers and collectors.
Handmade and hand decorated, no two are exactly alike. Photo should be used as a reference. Shipped product may vary in color, shape, size and feature imperfections not shown in the photo that provide more character. Pairs and groups must be ordered together to ensure a close match.
